Varin Acevedo, an award winning Exhibit Designer based in San Diego, California, offers extensive design and exhibit experience in the for-profit and non-profit sectors. She has extensive knowledge of methods and materials of construction and strives to maintain a cutting edge sense of design.

 Varin’s museum projects include the innovative, Planet e, theReinberger Hall of Earth and Planetary Exploration at The Cleveland Museum of Natural History where she worked with curators and educators to design and build interactive spaces rich in interpretive material on geology and astronomy within an immersive environment. The Hall features a simulated earthquake platform, MTV-style videos explaining the geologic time periods, interactive games, a cave, solar system blastoff game and other innovative learning spaces. As part of the project, she was honored to be asked to design the Wade Gallery of Gems and Jewels, a showplace for one of the finest collections in America. For this project, Varin was tutored by  Dr. Chandler Screvin, one of the founders of visitor-centered text and modern evaluation.

She has also designed a visitor center for NASA, creating the “Aero Adventure Gallery” and exhibits for the Fresno Metropolitan Museum, Utica Children’s Museum, the Children’s Museum of Cleveland, The Westside Children's Museum, The Building for Kids and The Midway Museum in San Diego,  Her degree is from the New York School of  Interior Design where she was awarded the coveted Medal of Excellence in Design. Currently she is working with the Women's Museum of California and the Building for Kids in Wisconsin.

Varin is able to work with any requirements, budgets and a diversity of content – from fine art to natural history and exhibits for children and families. Her range of experience includes full-scale gallery design and implementation to planning and managing changing exhibits. Her knowledge of construction, exhibit detailing and materials allows her to supervise all aspects of implementation.
